Balance Quest (editorial)

"Showing some foresight that may not pay off for Michigan until they are term-limited out of office, legislative leaders and Gov. Jennifer Granholm have agreed to a state budget structure that protects the public investment in education," states this editorial. A deal struck Friday would raise state support for K-12 school districts by $175 to $6,875 per pupil and assures some increase in funds for all 15 state public universities.
